Volunteer work is done at the Jokioinen Museum Railway almost every weekend of the year, and especially during the summer time to time, on weekdays too. There is always plenty to do for volunteers of all ages! The most visible part of volunteer work is the train traffic of the summer. But in addition to this at the museum railroad there is a lot of repair and maintenance work done. For everyone there will be something meaningful to do. Of the lighter work could be mentioned, for instance different painting and wood work, grass cutting and general tidying-up and cleaning work. Heavier work includes different track maintenance-related work, such as changing sleepers, track lifting and tamping.

Usually after the work sauna is heated up and in the summer also the barbeque in front of the sauna is hot. On Sundays, on the operation days a free lunch is served for the volunteers.

The accommodation is possible in the new Minkiö workshop building or in VR's former sleeping cars.

Welcome volunteering alone or with you friends for day or two or for a whole week. Every hour and day of the volunteer work is important and helps to preserve the Jokioinen railway for the future generations!
